Special Occasion and Holiday Gift Giving Alternatives

Do you need a gift idea for someone who has everything?  Or someone who is just plain hard to shop for?  If so, we have a great gift idea for you!  Make a donation to Clothes For Kids in honor of your Grandma Elsie or brother Tim, we will send the honoree a card saying a donation has been made in their name.  Donations are quick and easy - check out our online giving option!  Click on "Donate Here" just to your right!

Kendyl, 12, and Isabella, 13, did just that.  The girls had a birthday party and requested that their guests bring cash donations for Clothes For Kids instead of toys for themselves.  The girls received and donated $675!  With their donation, Clothes For Kids was able to provide underwear and socks to 47 children.

From Our Mailbox

April 2008:

Dear People at Clothes for Kids,

I just wanted to extend my thanks to the Clothes for Kids program for offering such a wonderful opportunity for my foster children to go shopping twice a year. I am a single mom who couldn't afford to provide this for my 17 year-old foster daughter without such assistance. We always find great stuff at your shop. It is a relief to know that you are there for me in emergencies, too, as I recently found out when I received a newly-placed foster child who arrived with only the clothes on her back. Thank you for making it possible for the kids that come to my home from a variety of circumstances feel like they deserve a good shopping trip!

Sincerely,

-Foster Mom

March 15, 2008: Announcement from Nancy Laird-Burris -  We are having a great year, as of March 15th, 2008, we have served 2,591 children and teens, compared to 1,591 as of March 16, 2007.  Yes, that is correct, an increase of 1,000 wardrobes.  This is only possible due to the generous donations of our supporters.

I just wanted to compliment you on this amazing organization.  What a wonderful resource you are for families.  I know it must seem like a constant struggle for funding, ect.,  but please know your efforts are appreciated by many.  Thank you from a parent, PTA volunteer and employee in ESD.

Thanks Nancy, you folks are doing such a wonderful job of helping our kids.
